2023 (Junior at Creighton)
After wearing No. 16 during his first two seasons, Castro moved to No. 10 in 2023 ... An All-BIG EAST First Team selection, Castro logged better than 1,454 minutes as a junior, the most on the team ... Starting each of the Bluejays’ 17 matches in 2023, Castro led Creighton with six assists and added in two goals ... He scored in eight different contest, delivering goals against Grand Canyon (Sept. 1) in a 2-1 loss as well as at Seton Hall (Oct. 14) in a 2-1 defeat ... Four of Castro’s assists came in road matches at Denver (Sept. 4), at DePaul (Sept. 23), at Butler (Oct. 7) and St. John’s (Oct. 28), while two were at home against Michigan (Sept. 8) and No. 7 Akron (Oct. 18) ... The assist versus the Zips gave Creighton a 3-0 edge in the 84th minute, a match Creighton ultimately won 3-2.
2022 (Sophomore at Creighton)
Castro came into his own with 10 goals and eight assists in his sophomore season ... The Texas native appeared in 22 matches, starting 20, playing a combined 1,671 minutes ... Following the 2022 season, Castro earned a spot on the All-BIG EAST Second Team, tallying three goals and four assists in conference action ... Jackson scored goals in four the first six matches, including a pair of goals in Creighton’s 6-1 win versus Omaha on Sept. 14 ...
