Bio
Schwartz, a Coppell, Texas, comes to Creighton after combining for seven wins, including five victories in doubles play, during limited action in her lone season with the Boilermakers.
"We are excited to have Sophie join our team," said Lilly. "I recruited her out of high school, but things didn't work out at that time. It was great to see her interested again as a transfer. She is a competitor and wants to be on the court. I believe she is going to help us immediately as she brings a year of Big Ten tennis experience with her."
Prior to her time at Purdue, Schwartz enjoyed a standout career at Greenhill School, where she was tabbed as a four-star recruit and the No. 14 ranked player in the state of Texas and the Gulf States Region by Tennis Recruiting Network.
A four-time all-conference and three-time league MVP, Schwartz guided the Hornets to a 40-2 overall record while picking up five L4 Texas Singles and nine L4 doubles championships. Outside of high school competition, Schwartz competed in the Winter Nationals twice, the Easter Bowl one, the National Clay Courts five times, the National Hard Courts championships four times and the Indoor Nationals once.
