Gotsmanov's score came in the 86th minute, as Akin Akinrinade sent a pass in front of the net and the senior tucked his team-leading seventh goal of the season into the back of the net from close range.
"What a great homecoming for Nick (O'Neill) tonight," said Bluejay head coach Bob Warming after the win. "He deserved that goal, he's been terific in training the past two weeks and he deserved that playing time no matter where we were playing tonight. But what a great night for a true freshman to come to his hometown and score the game-winning goal."
Again the defense continues to be the story for the 2008 Bluejays, as the Braves did not manage a single shot on goal in the contest. It is the second time a CU opponent has not taken a shot on goal this year and the eighth time this year a Bluejay foe managed three or fewer shots on goal. In CU's last three matches, opponents have managed a total of three shots on goal.
"I was proud of our second-half possession and the way we kept our composure," said Warming after a physical match which saw six yellow cards and one red card issued. "It was also nice to see Andrei add another first-class goal to give us that cushion late."

NOTES: Bradley's Grant Campbell was issued a red card for a hard tackle in the 60th minute, giving the Jays a man advantage for the final 30 minutes ... Creighton and Bradley have shared the last two MVC regular-season titles ... The Bluejays are now 19-5-1 all-time against Bradley, including 9-4-0 in Peoria ... CU freshman Greg Jordan was issued his fifth yellow card of the season in the second half, meaning he must sit out CU's match at Missouri State on Tuesday.
