
Bradley Barrage Too Much For Men's Basketball, 87-59

PEORIA, Ill. -- Bradley scored the game's first 11 points and never trailed while posting an 87-59 victory over Creighton on Saturday afternoon in Peoria. The Braves, who made 4-of-27 three-pointers in a loss at Indana State on Tuesday, made 13-of-28 three-pointers in the game including 8-of-16 in the first half.
Bradley improved to 15-12 on the season, while Creighton dropped to 17-8. Both teams are 8-7 in MVC action.
Bradley scored the game's first 11 points. Jeremy Crouch hit a three-pointer to open the scoring, and after a Daniel Ruffin free throw BU got a a trey from Andrew Warren, a lay-in by Theron Wilson and then a dunk by Warren to prompt a CU timeout. Creighton finally got on the board with 14:50 remaining on a basket by Booker Woodfox, but CU would get no closer than four (11-7) the rest of the night.
Bradley's lead was 33-24 with four minutes to play in the first half, but closed the first half on a 12-2 run. Sam Maniscalco drilled three trifectas during that surge, including one at the first-half buzzer to give BU a 46-26 halftime lead. Bradley hit 8-of-16 first-half three-pointers as well as 12-of-18 at the line. Maniscalco buried 13 points in the opening half, while CU was led by 10 from Woodfox at the break. The Braves also owned a 25-13 rebounding edge in the first half, converting nine offensive rebounds into 15 second-chance points.
The second half wasn't any better for the Bluejays as the Jays fell behind by as much as 87-49 with three minutes to play.
Dane Watts had 11 rebounds for Creighton and had 13 points for his second double-double this season. P'Allen Stinnett had 18 points, while Woodfox finished with 16 points. Creighton shot 34.4 percent for the game (21-61), and hit 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) at the line.
Bradley had five players in double-figures, paced by 20 points from Crouch while Ruffin finished with 16 points and nine assists. BU had a 44-31 rebounding edge, led by nine from Matt Salley.
Creighton returns to action on Tuesday with an 8:05 pm start against Missouri State. The game will be televised by ESPNU and can be heard on KXSP (Big Sports 590 AM).
NOTES: Booker Woodfox scored in double-figures for a seventh straight game, while P'Allen Stinnett stretched his streak to six consecutive double-figure contests.
