
Men's Soccer Wins Pair of Exhibitions Sunday

OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton men's soccer team won a pair of exhibitions on Sunday at Morrison Stadium, defeating the Des Moines Menace of the Premier Development League 2-0 and then topping Northwestern 5-0. Both contests were 60-minute matches.
In the Bluejays' win over the Menace, Andrew Duran's header off of Andrei Gotsmanov's corner kick gave the Jays a 1-0 lead and Jeff Thayer found the back of the net with assists from Gotsmanov and Tim Walters.
In the second contest of the day, Chris Schuler scored twice to lead the offensive attack against Northwestern. Duran again scored in the second game, as did newcomer Ethan Findlay. The Jays led 4-0 at the break and Tucker Sindlinger concluded the scoring with a tally in the second half assisted by Seth Sinovic.
Creighton has two remaining dates in its spring exhibition slate. Next up for the Bluejays is a contest with UMKC this Saturday at Morrison Stadium, with 1 p.m. kickoff. The Bluejays also play host to 2007 NCAA Champion Wake Forest on April 20 at 12:30 p.m.
