
Women's Tennis Falls To UNI In Regular Season Finale

The Bluejays end the regular
season with a 7-12 overall record and an 0-8 MVC mark.
In the top two singles flights,
Creighton put up valiant efforts only to drop three-set
decisions.
At No. 1, sophomore Lindsey
Erickson rallied from a first set blow out to force a third set, only to drop a
heartbreaker to UNI's Sampada Kanade, 6-0, 4-6, 7-5.
Freshman Lauren Mastro also came
back with a second-set win to force a tiebreaker, but she also fell by scores of
6-3, 1-6, (10-7).
Sarah Cadwallader (No. 3), Leesa
Cadwallader (No. 4) and Rachelle Shoji (No. 5) each suffered two-set defeats in
singles play. The Jays were forced to forfeit the match at No.
6.
In doubles action, the Cadwallader
twins dropped an 8-2 decision at the No. 1 spot, while Erickson and Mastro were
narrowly edged at No. 2, 8-7. Without six healthy players, Creighton also
forfeited the No. 3 doubles match.
Creighton will now turn its
attention to the MVC Team Championships, which will take place April 25-27 in
