
Women's Tennis Wins Eighth Straight, Downs UMKC 5-2

OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton women's tennis team won its eighth straight match Friday, defeating UMKC 5-2 at the Hanscom Tennis Center. The win puts the team one short of its program high of nine set in 1989-90.
Leading the team were Tess Reddin and Nicole Nakaoka who each went 2-0 on the day, defeating the duo of Emily Lindsay and Chelsea Horner, 8-6 in doubles, before each won their singles match. Reddin defeated Lindsay 6-0, 6-2, while Nakaoka downed Horner 6-1, 6-2.
The most exciting match of the day came in Mary Pat McMullan's single match as she defeated Jillian Yakominich 6-4, 7-5. It was the only match of the day that went to a seventh point.
The team will go for its record-tying ninth straight win on Saturday against South Dakota beginning at 1:00 p.m.
