OMAHA, Neb. -- Tournament organizers have reworked the schedule for this weekend's Bluejay Invitational, a necessity after the Tulane Volleyball program was struck by a mass illness that prevented the team from travelling.
The event will now be a three-team tournament, with the field including Texas Tech, No. 10 Illinois and tournament host Creighton.
The tournament will still be played, with a revised schedule.
The new schedule is below:
Friday, Aug. 28
6:30 pm - Texas Tech at Creighton
Saturday, Aug. 29
Noon - Texas Tech vs. Illinois
2 pm - Creighton Alumni Match
7 pm - Illinois at Creighton
From a ticketing perspective, Friday's "Match One" ticket will still be good for the Creighton/Texas Tech match. Doors will open at 5 pm on Friday, a match that will mark the first regular-season competition inside the Wayne and Eileen Ryan Athletic Center and D.J. Sokol Arena.
For Saturday morning, fans should use the "Match Two" ticket for the noon contest between Illinois and Texas Tech. For Saturday evening's 7 pm match between Illinois and Creighton, fans should use the "Match Three" ticket for admission. Doors on Saturday will open one hour prior to first serve. Also on Saturday, the Creighton Alumni will play at 2 pm in a match that is free to the public to attend.
Both of Creighton's matches this weekend will be broadcast on KKAR (1290 AM) and streamed live. All matches in the tournament will still have live stats as well. In addition, all Bluejay Invitational matches will also have pay-per-view live video. Links for the live stats, audio and video can all be found on www.gocreighton.com.
