
Creighton Men's Tennis Loses 6-1 to Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. - The Creighton men's tennis team struggled to put many things together on Saturday, playing at in-state rival Nebraska. The Jays lost 6-1, with the sole point a victory in the No. 2 singles by J.T. Christian.
Creighton fell in all three doubles. Christian teamed up with Billy Paluch at the No. 1 doubles spot, falling 8-3 to Calin Paar and Robert Schulze. finishing second was the No. 2 doubles, with Kyle Obermeier and Sean Mathison falling 8-4 to Andre Stenger and Sebastian Florczyk. In the final doubles match, Ryan Norman and Gabe Nagy fell 8-2 in the No. 3 doubles to Benedikt Lindheim and Drew Freeman.
The Singles matches continued much like the doubles matches ended, with the Huskers stringing together games to win the sets. Nagy finished at No. 4 singles first, falling to Florczyk 6-1, 6-0 in straight sets. Paluch finished second, falling 6-4, 6-1 to Paar in the No. 1 singles.
Christian was the third singles match to finish, winning the only point for the Jays on the day, when he defeated Tom Blackwell 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 2 singles position. The win marks Christian's fourth straight singles victory, moving his singles mark to 5-2 on the season.
Bryan Lube dropped the No. 5 singles, falling in straight sets 6-4, 6-3 to Boney. Norman then dropped a 6-3, 6-4 decision in the No. 6 singles to Videtich. In the final finish of the day, Obermeier battled in a close finish, including a forced extra game, 6-3, 7-5 to Schulze in the No. 3 singles.
The Jays now get a little bit of a break until their next match. The team travels to Orlando, Fla., the week of March 6th for a spring break trip. Creighton will match up against Mt.
