Scouting the Creighton Bluejays (1-2-1):
Behind strong play from freshmen Alyssa Jara and Alissa Kohmetscher, the Creighton women's soccer team picked up its first victory of 2012. Downing South Dakota, 3-1, on Tuesday, Aug. 28. Senior Sarah Kendall added to the scoring for the Jays, notching her second goal in as many games to put the game away.
Senior goalkeeper Katie Jo Swanson figures to see the majority of time in the net this season and thus far she has played every second (381:31).
Scouting the Kansas Jayhawks (3-1-0):
Kansas enters Friday's contest with the Jays on a two match winning streak, shutout victories over No. 24 Georgia (3-0) on Aug. 24 and UNLV (1-0) on Aug. 26. Junior Caroline Kastor has sparked the offensive through the first four games, leading Kansas with five points (two goals and one assist). Though five other Jayhawks have scored this season, including four points each for freshman Ashley Williams (two goals), sophomore Jamie Fletcher (one goal, two assists) and senior Whitney Berry (one goal, two assists).
Senior Kat Liebetrau has minded the net for Kansas, nabbing 10 saves and allowing just three goals in four matches.
Scouting the Arizona Wildcats (1-2-0):
Arizona will enter Sunday's match following its first victory of the season, 3-0, over Northern Arizona on Aug. 26. Junior Ana-Maria Montoya tallied two goals for Arizona in their victory, her first two goals of the season. Arizona held a 24-9 edge over Northern Arizona in the win.
Junior goalkeeper Gabby Kaufman has made 15 saves for the Wildcats this season, playing all of Arizona's 273:01 this season.
