OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton Women's Soccer standout Jalen Chaney has been named to the Mexico U-20 Women's National Team that will travel to Swietochlowice, Poland from June 4-June 10 for a training camp and two matches in preparation for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup.
"This is a great opportunity for Jalen," said head coach Jimmy Walker. "It is well deserved honor as she has worked extremely hard since she arrived at Creighton. It is always a privilege to be selected for your national team and extremely hard to get to that level, but we are proud and excited for her."
Chaney and the Mexican U-20 squad will play two friendlies at the Stadium Skalka them. Paul Waloszka with the first match scheduled for June 6 against the Czech Republic and the second match set for June 9 against host Poland.
This marks the second time in her short collegiate career that Chaney has been called up to the Mexico U-20 National Team, as she also called up for training camp at the beginning of April.
Chaney, a native of Flower Mound, Texas, played in 13 games as a rookie for the Bluejays in 2025. Battling injuries, she logged just 413 minutes but ranked second on the team with four goals and three assists, earning BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors twice.
Should Chaney be selected for the Mexico U-20 National Team after this week's training camp, she would join the team for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women's Cup set to begin in mid-August in Poland.
