Baseball Outlasts Fresno State, 2-1

OMAHA, Neb. - The Creighton Baseball team earned a 2-1 win over Fresno State on Friday, March 21 to move to 10-6-1 on the season. The loss dropped Fresno State to 15-8 overall.
Fresno State got on the board first in the top of the fourth on a one-out single from Trent Woodward, a ground-rule double from Taylor Ward and a sacrifice fly from Jake Stone.
Creighton quickly answered in the bottom half of the frame as senior Mike Gerber led off the inning with a triple into the right-center field gap. One out later sophomore Brett Murray lined a sacrific fly to left field to knot the game at 1-1.
The Bluejays and Bulldogs will continue their three-game series on Saturday, March 22 at 2 pm at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
