Junior forward Fabian Herbers (12g, 9a this year) has emerged as a frontrunner for National Player of the Year honors, as he's contributed at least one point in 14 of Creighton's 15 wins, including a point in the Bluejays' first 10 matches. He currently leads the BIG EAST for goals, assists, points per game, and shots on goal per game after earning First Team All-America accolades and BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year honors during a magnificent 2014 season. Last season, he led the conference with 28 points, was second in the league with four game-winning goals, and third in both goals (10) and assists (8). Herbers was also a Third Team CoSIDA Academic All-American last year.
Senior Timo Pitter (7g, 3a this year) paced the league in assists (9), shots (75) and shots on goal (36) during a 2014 campaign that saw him add Second Team All-America plaudits. Pitter was also named BIG EAST Midfielder of the Year in 2014.

The Muskateers earned a 1-0, overtime victory over league opponent Marquette on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Cincinnati.

Balanced Bluejays
In 15 games this season, Creighton has allowed just seven goals. Only St. Francis Brooklyn (5) and Loyola Chicago (6) have allowed fewer goals.

Herbers For Hermann
Fabian Herbers recorded at least one point (a goal or an assist) in each of Creighton's first ten regular-season games this fall.
Herbers was the first Bluejay to start a season in such fashion since restarting the program in 1990. MLS standout and Creighton alumnus, Ethan Finlay, had a run of nine straight such games from Sept. 17-Oct. 23, 2010.
The junior forward has notched a point in 14 of Creighton's 15 contests.

We're No. 1, We're No. 1
For the eighth-straight week, Creighton is ranked first nationally in the NSCAA, Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News polls this week. It's the 15th time in program history the coaches have voted CU to the top spot.
Creighton was ranked No. 1 the final five weeks of the 1993 season by the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America.
Since the NSCAA poll became the poll of record in 1996, Creighton has been No. 1 for one week each on Sept. 15, 1999 and Sept. 10, 2013. CU moved into the top spot in this year's NSCAA poll on Sept. 8 poll and has remained there since.
During Creighton's 2013 stint atop the poll, the Bluejays lost 3-2 in double-overtime vs. William & Mary to drop to fifth, and would actually end the season unranked.
Below is a list of the last time the Bluejays were ranked No. 1 by each organization before this season:
NSCAA - Sept. 10, 2013
Soccer America - Oct. 21, 2014
College Soccer News - Nov. 11, 2014

Herbers From The Spot
Creighton is a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks this season, with Fabian Herbers converting all three kicks.
This is just the second time in the last dozen years that Creighton has made three or more penalty kicks in the same season, joining the 2011 club that was 4-for-6 from the spot.
Herbers is the first Creighton player to make three penalty kicks in the same season since Mike Tranchilla converted four in 2002.
Herbers Earns National Honor
Fabian Herbers was named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week on Oct. 5, marking the third time this season Herbers has earned the distinction. Last month, Herbers was named CSN National Player of the Week on Sept. 14 for his role in a 1-0 win at Michigan State.

Sparrow Finds A Way To Win
Senior goalkeeper Connor Sparrow has allowed one goal or less in 39 of his 41 career starts at Creighton.
The only team to score against him multiple times in the same game has been Seton Hall, which did it in both 2014 and 2015, though Creighton won both matches (3-2 in 2014 and 4-2 in 2015).
In his other 39 starts as a Bluejay, Sparrow has allowed just 16 total goals.
O Captain! My Captain!
Seniors Vincent Keller and Eric DeJulio have been named captains on this year's team. Both men started all 22 games a season ago for Creighton's BIG EAST champion club.
Pitter Sets Another Morrison Mark
Timo Pitter has attempted 171 shots in his career at Morrison Stadium to break the all-time mark formerly held by Ethan Finlay (141) from 2008-11.
Earlier this year Pitter broke the stadium record for career shots on goal (89), passing the 66 by Finlay.
Pitter is also second in Morrison Stadium history in career goals and points, trailing Finlay in both categories. He trails Finlay by just one goal (21).
With his appearance versus Villanova on Saturday, Pitter became Morrison Stadium's all-time leader for matches played with 48.
Bolowich Keeps CU Winning
Creighton ranks second nationally with 78 wins in the last five years, which coincides with the arrival of head coach Elmar Bolowich. Bolowich was named BIG EAST Co-Coach of the Year last season after helping the Bluejays to a league title.

Keller & Pitter Up For Senior Class Award
Vincent Keller and Timo Pitter are among 30 men's soccer student-athletes who excel both on and off the field that were selected as candidates for the 2015 Senior CLASS Award® in collegiate soccer.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Pitter is one of four men (along with CSU Bakersfield's Christian Duarte, Cal Poly's Chase Minter and Stanford's Brandon Vincent) who are also on the preseason watch list for the Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy, which recognizes the top player in collegiate soccer. Outside of academics and athletics, all candidates also have been consistently involved in community service on their campus or in their communities.
The candidates will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one candidate who best exemplifies excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition. ?
The Senior CLASS Award winners will be announced during the 2015 NCAA Men's and Women's College Cup® championships in December.
Former Creighton goalkeeper Brian Holt won the 2011 Senior CLASS Award on the pitch, while ex-Creighton men's basketball standout Doug McDermott won the 2014 Senior CLASS Award on the hardwood.
NSCAA Team Academic Award
The Creighton men's soccer program was recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with the organization's team academic award for 2014-15.
It is the seventh honor in the last eight seasons (2008-12, 2014-15) for Creighton.
The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field and requires a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
Herbers Play Gets Noticed
Fabian Herbers was a First Team All-American last year, and the junior picked up where he left off as the forward was named to College Soccer News' National Team of the Week on Aug. 31 and the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Week on Sept. 1. He repeated his honor from Top Drawer Soccer on Sept. 8 with two goals and two assists in two wins. Herbers earned recognition for a third straight week when he was named the National Player of the Week by College Soccer News on Sept. 14. He again earned a spot on College Soccer News' National Team of the Week on Oct. 5.
Herbers has tallied at least one point in 14 of Creighton's 15 matches this year and has scored a goal in all but four contests.
His five points against No. 13 UC Irvine on Sept. 6 were a personal high, and the most by a Bluejay since Ethan Finlay had six points on Oct. 15, 2011, also against UC Irvine.
In addition, Herbers performance vs. UC Irvine included his second career multiple-game as a Bluejay. Thirteen times in his 47 career contests he has scored the first goal of the game for either team.
In 16 games against outside competition this fall (two exhibitions, 15 regular-season games), Herbers owns 14 goals and 13 assists:

League Openers
Creighton's win at Seton Hall on Sept. 26 improved Creighton to 16-4-5 all-time in conference openers, including a 3-1-1 mark under Elmar Bolowich.
Since joining the BIG EAST, Creighton is a perfect 3-0-0 in league lid-lifters, picking up 1-0 wins over St. John's (in OT in 2013) and at Villanova (in 2014) before this season's 4-2 win at Seton Hall.
In league road openers, Creighton improved to 13-5-7 overall and 2-1-2 under Bolowich. During Bolowich's tenure, the Bluejays are 5-0-0 in league home openers.
The Bluejays win over DePaul on Oct. 3 improved Creighton's all-time mark in league home openers to 21-2-2.
Bluejay Flurry Keys Comeback
In its BIG EAST opener, Creighton trailed 2-1 late versus Seton Hall lon Sept. 26 before unleashing three goals in less than six minutes to lock up a hard-fought, 4-2 road win.
After Lucas Stauffer was fouled in the box, Fabian Herbers tied the game at 2-2 on a penalty kick with 10:14 to play. Just 128 seconds later Myles Englis scored to make it 3-2. And 5:45 after Herbers' initial score it was Stauffer who found the back of the net for the first time in 2015 to add an insurance tally.
Creighton had not scored three goals in less than a six minute span since Sept. 21, 2003, when it did so vs. Yale.
Saturday's comeback was Creighton's first victory under Elmar Bolowich in a game in which it's trailed with less than 11 minutes left, and first time since a 2-1 overtime win on Oct. 16, 2010 at Evansville under Jamie Clark.
The last time Creighton trailed with 11 minutes left and won a game in regulation came Oct. 17, 2007, when it won 2-1 at Western Kentucky with Bob Warming as coach.
Creighton also rallied from one-goal, second-half deficits to beat Drake and St. John's.
A Big Win Over A Big-Time Team
Creighton's 4-0 win over No. 13 UC Irvine on Sept. 6 was its largest margin of victory against a ranked team since a 4-0 win versus No. 23 Tulsa on Oct. 3, 2004.
Creighton's last win by four or more goals against a top-20 team had been a 6-2 victory over No. 6 Boston College on Dec. 8, 2002.
Top 10 Preseason Jays, Again
Creighton was ranked sixth nationally in the preseason edition of the NSCAA Top 25 Coaches poll.
This was the fourth time in the last five years the Bluejays have been ranked in the top-10 of the preseason poll, and 11th time since 1998.
Creighton has now spent at least one week in the top 10 of the NSCAA poll in each of the last 24 seasons.
Dynamic Duo
Timo Pitter and Fabian Herbers form one of the nation's top offensive duos, and the numbers continue to bear that out.
Either Pitter or Herbers has scored or assisted on 48 of Creighton's 69 goals since the start of the 2014 season, including 24-of-32 tallies a year ago.
That pair have combined for 35 goals and 29 assists in that span. 14 of those 35 goals have been assisted by the other half of their star duo.
Among Active Career Leaders
Timo Pitter currently ranks third in NCAA Division I among active players with 80 career points. Pitter is tied for fourth among active players for career goals (30).
Fabian Herbers ranks fifth for points per game among active players, maintaining an average of 1.31.
Sparrow A Rare Bird
Senior GK Connor Sparrow remains Creighton's all-time leader in goals against average, allowing just 0.47 goals per 90 minutes in a Bluejay uniform.
Sparrow's numbers are even more impressive at home, where he owns a 0.37 GAA in a Creighton uniform at Morrison Stadium.
Of the 20 goals that Sparrow has allowed as a Bluejay, only six have come prior to halftime.
Sparrow is Creighton's all-time leader for win percentage with a .833 mark (33-5-4).
Ethan Finlay, All-Star
Former Creighton All-American Ethan Finlay is having a splendid summer.
Finlay entered the week ranked fifth in the MLS with 13 assists to go with 12 goals in 34 starts with the Columbus Crew this year.
Earlier this summer, Finlay played in the MLS All-Star Game.
Finlay played at Creighton from 2008-11, leading the Bluejays to a pair of College Cups before being 10th overall in the 2012 MLS Super Draft.
Jays Favored In Preseason BIG EAST Poll
Creighton and Georgetown tied for first in the preseason BIG EAST poll that was released on Aug. 18. Both teams had 77 points and five first-place votes in the poll.
GK Connor Sparrow, M Timo Pitter and F Fabian Herbers were each named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Pitter was a unanimous selection, while Sparrow was named BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.
This is the eighth time in the last 11 years, and 15th time since 1990, that Creighton has been picked to win its league in the preseason.
Perennial Power
Creighton won the program's first BIG EAST title last season when it claimed the regular-season crown with a 7-1-1 mark.
The Bluejays now own 13 regular-season and 13 conference tournament titles in program history, all since 1992.
You Play To Win The Game
Creighton's 16-3-3 record last year led the nation in winning percentage (.795). The Bluejays were eliminated from the NCAA Tournament after falling in penalty kicks vs. UMBC during the team's 10th appearance in the national quarterfinals in the last 19 years.
Another Strong Class
College Soccer News has dubbed Creighton's recruiting class as the nation's 31st best. Among the newcomers the website highlights are Evan Waldrep, Jacob Rooth and Peter Prescott.
Herbers & Pitter Earn Preseason Acclaim
Fabian Herbers and Timo Pitter have both been recognized nationally in the preseason. Both men are among the 30 players on the MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. Creighton is one of six schools with two players on the list, joining Charlotte, CSU Bakersfield, Georgetown, Kentucky and Stanford.
Top Drawer Soccer also honored Herbers and Pitter on their Preseason Best XI Teams. Herbers was a first-team pick at forward, while Pitter was a second-teamer as a midfielder.
College Soccer News also acknowledged Herbers and Pitter on its Preseason All-America Teams. Herbers was a first-team choice at forward, while Pitter was a second-team midfielder.
Top 100 Trio
