Bird Seeds
- Thursday's meeting with the East Carolina marks the first time the Bluejays have battled the Pirates.
- Although Creighton has not faced East Carolina, the Bluejays have learned what it is like to battle Pirates. Creighton holds a 3-1 edge on its BIG EAST rival the Seton Hall Pirates.
- The Bluejays will also face a new opponent on Saturday, playing the Eastern Washington Eagles for the first time.
- Creighton and Northwestern have a brief series history, splitting six games. The Wildcats have claimed the last two matchups, including a 2011 affair in the WNIT.
- Northwestern claimed that game, 89-73, on March 17, 2011.
- One oddity of the Lone Star Showcase is the NCAA Sponsor for the event is the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The MVC does not have a team in the eight-team field, but every "exempt event" requires an NCAA sponsor.
- The Bluejays, of course, were a member of the MVC until 2013 and have already played Valley members Wichita State and Drake in 2015-16.
