Women's Hoops Hosts Seton Hall for New Year's Eve

Omaha, Neb. - Looking to close out 2015 with a win the Creighton women's basketball squad hosts Seton Hall on Thursday, Dec. 31 at 1:00 pm.
Creighton's contest with Seton Hall will be broadcast on the internet via the BIG EAST Digital Network.

Series with Seton Hall: Creighton leads 3-1
Facing off twice in the past two seasons, the Bluejays swept Seton Hall in 2013-14 and split two games last season.
Creighton is 1-1 against the Pirates at home, falling 79-74 last season (Dec. 3, 2014). The Bluejays rebounded to give the Pirates their only home loss of the season, 81-73, on Feb. 8.
Scouting Seton Hall (11-1, 1-0 BIG EAST)
Coming off an NCAA Tournament appearance and a regular season BIG EAST crown last season, the Pirates had raised the bar for 2015-16. Amazing Seton Hall has started off this season even better, winning 11 of its first 12 contests.
Four of the Pirates starting five average 11.3 points or more per game, led by Tabitha Richardon-Smith (15.8 ppg).
If there is a hole in the Seton Hall game it is the minutes the starters play. The Pirates starting group has played over 1400 of 2400 minutes this season. In addition Seton Hall can fall victim to the turnover, committing 178 (14.8 per game)

Both Seton Hall and Creighton have former graduates leading their respective teams into battle on Thursday as the Pirates' Anthony Bozzella graduated from Seton Hall in 1989. Creighton's Jim Flanery, meanwhile, was a Bluejay graduate in 1987.
Two other BIG EAST coach leads the school he or she graduated from as DePaul's Doug Bruno earned his degree from DePaul in 1973 and Marquette's Carolyn Kieger walked across the stage in 2006.
Faber Sits Seventh in NCAA from Long Range
Freshman Audrey Faber is the best post player in the country from long range this season and ranks seventh overall at 50.0% from three-point distance. The next post player (forward or center) is Jean Parker of Army in 11th (48.8%). Four of the top ten (Nogic, Mehta, Faber and Sahar) are freshmen.

- Take care of the ball: In the loss to St. John's, Creighton committed a season-high 19 turnovers. Like the Red Storm, the Pirates like to score in transition. In Seton Hall's win over Providence the Pirates forced 21 turnovers, scoring 22 points on them. Â
- Get Faber Back on Track: With Janning and Rollerson still on the shelf, Creighton needs to shake off the 1-for-6 outing against St. John's.
- Protect the Paint: Creighton is 0-6 when the Bluejays are outscored in the paint by 15 points or more.
