
Baseball Returns to Louisiana to Battle Tulane

OMAHA, Neb. - After splitting two games with Northwestern State last weekend, the Creighton Baseball team returns to Louisiana to face Tulane this weekend.

New coach David Pierce has Tulane off to a roaring start this season, including a six-game winning streak. The Green Wave are just one inning from a 9-0 start as Tulane held a 1-0 lead on Pepperdine in the series finale.
The Green Wave won games in California with hot hitting, scoring 18 runs in the first two games with Pepperdine. The following weekend in their home opening series with San Francisco Tulane took a 1-0 win in the opener and a 3-2, 11-inning, win in the second game.
The strength of the Tulane's strong start has been its pitching. The Green Wave have a 1.86 team ERA, with 64 strikeouts in 82.1 innings.
At the plate, Tulane is hitting .288 as a team. Three starters (Stephen Alemais - .429, Hunter Hope - .412 and Lex Kaplan - .375) are hitting over .350.
