Scouting the Falcons (2015: 9-13, 5-7 Mountain West)
Air Force opened the 2015 with five straight losses, but have been a bit better than a .500 team since. Recently the Falcons have hit a bump in the road, dropping three straight and four of five.
As a unit the Falcons are hitting .269, led by six players above .316. Bradley Haslam and Adam Groesbeck hold the highest averages on the squad at .352 and .341 respectively. Groesbeck can be a pest on the base paths, nabbing 10 stolen bases in 12 attempts.
The Falcons have struggled on the mound, posting a 4.94 team ERA. One of the key issues has been control as Air Force has given out 102 walks in 186 innings.
Scouting the Bluejays (2015: 11-7)
The Bluejays have won three straight, including an 8-3 win in Creighton's only game in New York this weekend. The weekend was cut short as a snow storm hit Stony Brook.
Reagan Fowler continues to lead the offense, but the Bluejays are beginning to see significant contributions from junior Harrison Crawford as well as the rest of the lineup.
In two games last weekend Crawford was 3-for-5 with a two run triple.
The Road So Far
After dropping four straight to open the month of March, Creighton has won six of its last seven games.
The Road Ahead
Following the two-game stint with Air Force, the Bluejays welcome Stetson to town for three games over the weekend.
A Little Bit Further
The first of three midweek games with Nebraska looks on March 31 as the Bluejays travel to Lincoln for that contest.
Servais Reaches 400 Wins at Creighton
Head coach Ed Servais reached a personal milestone on Sunday, March 22 with his 400th win as the leader of the Bluejays.
Servais enters play on Tuesday with a 400-237-1 mark at the Creighton helm. He has led the Bluejays to the NCAA tournament four times and guided the baseball program to the school's first BIG EAST regular-season championship last season.
