
Men's Basketball Ranks Sixth Nationally in Average Home Attendance

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton Men's Basketball team ranked sixth nationally in average home attendance in 2014-15, according to official NCAA totals released on Monday.
The Bluejays attracted 289,808 fans in 17 home dates, good for an average of 17,048.
The sixth-place finish marked the fourth straight season the Bluejays have finished in the top six, as the Bluejays trailed only Syracuse (23,854), Kentucky (23,572), Louisville (21,386), North Carolina (19,582) and Wisconsin (17,279).
Creighton has now finished in the top-25 nationally in 10 straight seasons, and has led its conference in attendance all 12 seasons since moving to CenturyLink Center Omaha.
The 289,808 fans ranked as the third-highest total in program history, trailing only the 2008-09 (302,676) and 2012-13 (291,643) campaigns. In addition, the 17,048 average was also third-highest in program history, trailing 2013-14 (17,896) and 2012-13 (17,155).
Creighton's 17,048 fans per home game ranked higher than 11 other NBA teams in 2014-15, and the Bluejays became the first team to average 17,000+ fans, despite finishing with a losing record, since Louisville in 2000-01.
Creighton ranked 21st among all game attendance (including road and neutral sites) with 423,265 fans overall.
The BIG EAST Conference ranked fifth with 9,853 average fans per home game in 2014-15. All 10 BIG EAST schools averaged 6,200 fans or more per game and ranked among the top-85 nationally. Marquette (22nd), Xavier (42nd), Villanova (44th), Georgetown (45th) and Providence (52nd) also ranked among the nation's largest home crowds, on average.
In addition to the men's basketball team ranking sixth nationally in attendance, Creighton also had men's soccer (10th), baseball (18th) and volleyball (33rd) rank among the top-40 nationally in attendance in 2014-15.
