In addition the Paule Era beginning, Friday will bring about another exciting change for Creighton athletics as all fall home events (women's soccer, men's soccer and volleyball) will be FREE to watch the live stream at gocreighton.com.
Paule Era Officially Begins:
For the first time since 1999, the Creighton women's soccer team has a new leader as Ross Paule took the reigns of the program last December. Friday will mark the first official game under Paule for the Bluejays as Creighton hosts South Dakota.
A standout player at Creighton from 1994-96, Paule was part of the group that helped the men's program reach its first College Cup in 1996. After going on to have a successful professional career, Paule has returned to Omaha with designs on bringing the women's program the same type of success that he ushered to the men's team as a player in the late 1990s.
Series History:
Creighton leads South Dakota, 8-0-0
The Bluejays and Coyotes have faced off during each of the last eight seasons, including a 3-1 Bluejay victory last year in Vermillion, S.D.
Creighton leads Missouri-Kansas City, 4-1-1
The Roos earned their first win over Creighton, 2-0, last season in Omaha. Creighton will look to post the first road win under Paule's guidance on Sunday.

Bluejays in Season Openers:
Creighton has an 13-11-2 mark in season
openers all-time and are 15-7-4 in home opening matches. The Bluejays won its opening match last season, a 3-2 road victory at South Dakota State on Aug. 22.
The last time the Bluejays opened the season at home was in 2012, a 1-0 overtime loss to Iowa State.
Scouting Creighton (0-0-0):
After getting off to a white hot start in 2014, 7-0-0, the Bluejays closed the season with just three victories over their final 11 contests. The late season struggles paved the way for a change as Ross Paule has taken over as head coach.
Paule did not inherit an empty cabinet as the Bluejays top four scorers (Lauren Sullivan, Alyssa Jara, Kirstyn Corder and Ylenia Sachau) are all back on the pitch for Creighton in 2015.
One area that will bring change for Creighton this season will be in goal. Either senior Kyla Salazar or freshman Erin Scott will be asked to make her Creighton debut on Friday night against the Coyotes.
Scouting South Dakota (0-0-0):
Similar to Creighton the Coyotes closed 2014 in a slump, as South Dakota dropped four of its final five matches to close the season at 9-8-2.
Also following the Bluejays path, the Coyotes welcome back the vast majority of their offense from last season. South Dakota's attack welcomes back its top three scorers from last season led by Taylor Nivala (eight goals and one assist).
Continuing the connections with Creighton, South Dakota will have a new face in the net. Sophomore Sydney Hardin is expected to get call for the Coyotes. Hardin saw action in six matches last season, allowing one goal in just under 247 minutes.
Last Meeting with Coyotes:
W, 3-1 (Sept. 14, 2014)
When Creighton and South Dakota met last season, Alyssa Jara dominated the Coyotes, scoring two goals in the opening 20 minutes of play. The Bluejays got another goal from Kirstyn Corder in the 76th minute to go up 3-0 and went on to claim the game 3-1.
Scouting Missouri-Kansas City (0-0-0):
Missouri-Kansas City opened its season on Friday at Drake. The Roos shared the
regular-season WAC title in 2014 after an 8-1-1
conference performance, but failed to reach the NCAA tournament after falling to co-champion Seattle University in the WAC Tournament Championship.
Nina Tzianos returns as goalkeeper after recording eight shutouts last season. Missouri-Kansas City also returns three of its top five goal scorers from last season. Whitney Lucas and Kara Priest both return after scoring seven goals each, good enough for second on the team, while Emily Herndon had five.
The Roos finished last season 7-1-0 at home, compared to 6-4-3 away from Durwood Soccer Stadium.
Last Meeting with Roos: L, 0-2 (Sept. 19, 2014)
The matchup with Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) last season is one most of the current Bluejays would like to erase from their memory. Looking to continue a program best 7-0-0 start to the 2014 season, Creighton was shutout by the Roos. The first goal of the game was an own goal knocked in during the 62nd minute, while UMKC added another in the 67th.
Scheduling Oddity:
If the set up for the contests with South Dakota and Missouri-Kansas City seems familiar, it is the Bluejays played these two teams in back-to-back contests in 2014 as well. One year earlier (2013), Creighton faced UMKC first (Sept. 10), then hosted South Dakota on Sept. 13.
