New York, N.Y. -- The BIG EAST Conference schedule and television coverage for Creighton women's basketball's 2015-16 season was unveiled on Thursday, Sept. 17.
The Bluejays open and close with St. John's as the Red Storm come to D.J. Sokol Arena on Dec. 29 a game that will be carried on FOX Sports 2 (FS2), while Creighton returns to Carnesecca Arena on Feb. 28 (also available on FS2).
Creighton will have five contests carried nationally, including four at home. In addition to the two games with St. John's, the Bluejays home games with Xavier (Jan. 8), Villanova (Jan. 29 ) and DePaul (Feb. 21) will all be carried on FOX Sports 1 (FS1).
The BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament will return to an on-campus location for the first time since 2003 as DePaul will host the 2016 Tournament in McGrath-Phillips Arena. The first round matchup will be carred on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN), while the quarterfinals will air on FS2. The semifinals and final can be seen on FS1.
The league tourney was played on campus sites for the first 21 years (1983-2003), rotating across 10 different campuses, including the courts of five current members. The BIG EAST Tournament was moved to off-campus locations in 2004, remaining at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn., through 2013. Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Ill., has been the tourney home the last two seasons.
The remaining BIG EAST season as well as the Bluejays' season opening game against Wichita State will be carried online via the BEDN.
BEDN has its own branded channel within FOX Sports GO, the app that provides live streaming video of FOX Sports content at home or on-the-go. FOX Sports GO app users who are also subscribers of participating video providers can live stream men's basketball telecasts carried on the FOX broadcast network, FS1, FS2, and the FOX Sports Regional Networks.
BEDN will also carry 225 live streamed events, including every women's basketball game that is not carried by FOX Sports or CBS Sports Network. All BIG EAST championships will be carried on a FOX Sports channel or BEDN. In addition to live streaming, BEDN content will include highlights, selected news coverage and shoulder programming.
