Koca Named BIG EAST Men's Tennis Player of the Week

New York, N.Y. -- Creighton's Alex Koca was named the BIG EAST Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday, March 16, while Xavier's Sydney Liggins earned the honor of BIG EAST Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
Koca went 2-0 at the No. 2 singles spot for Creighton, helping lead the Bluejays to victories over Norfolk State, 4-3 on March 9th, and St. Francis, 7-0 on March 10th. The sophomore bested Norfolk State's Dan Dumitrascu 6-3, 6-2 and Luca Dordevic of St. Francis 6-0, 6-1. While the Bluejays were on their recent spring break trip for to Florida (March 7-10), Koca went a perfect 4-0 at the second singles position and was a combined 2-1 in doubles play.
Koch and the Bluejays return to action on Saturday, March 19 as Creighton hosts UMKC at 1:00 pm.
