Adding to the announced class of 2016, head coach Ross Paule has inked Ayssa Swift from Providence, Rhode Island. The addition of Swift moves the signing class for next season to 13 additions.
Coming to Creighton from the home of one of the Bluejays BIG EAST rivals, Swift is a four-year letterwinner for La Salle Academy, the 5'5'' Swift earned First Team All-New England this season as well as earning an All-State selection. Swift equally excellent on the track, claiming a fourth place finish in the 100 meter dash in the State Championships as a freshman.
"Alyssa brings both the mental and physical attributes that we look for when building our defensive options. She has the ability to win tackles, aerial battles and connects well when in possession of the ball," said Paule. "Going forward she has the engine and speed to help build attacks out of the back, which is something we look for in our defending players."
