Creighton WBB Looks to Stay Alive Against No. 2 Villanova

Chicago, Ill. -- The Creighton women's basketball team looks to extend its season as the Bluejays take on the two-seeded Villanova Wildcats at 12:00 pm in the BIG EAST Tournament Quarterfinals on Sunday, March 6.

- Creighton swept the season series from Villanova.
- Sunday, however, will be the first meeting that the Wildcats do not have Caroline Coyer.
- Sunday will be the first meeting in the BIG EAST Tournament between the Bluejays and Wildcats.
- Since joining the BIG EAST Conference prior to the 2013-14 season, Creighton and Villanova have split the six meetings between the two schools.
- Creighton is 2-2 in the BIG EAST Tournament. The Bluejays defeated Butler in 2013-14 and Providence on Friday. Both losses have come to St. John's.
- Saturday's victory in McGrath-Phillips over Providence, gave head coach Jim Flanery a victory in every arena in the BIG EAST. Flanery has won at least one road contest over the other eight teams in the BIG EAST, he hopes to get a chance to complete the set with a win over DePaul in the BIG EAST Tournament Final.
- Junior MC McGrory averaged 16.0 ppg in the two contests against the Wildcats this season.
- In the first meeting the Bluejays, Creighton forced Villanova into more turnovers than the Bluejays committed. Over the two games the two teams have combined to commit 34 turnovers.
- Caroline Coyer accounted for 31 of the Wildcats' 110 points against Creighton.
- The Bluejays have held Villanova to just 20.4% from beyond the arc this season (11-of-54).
- In two contests with the Bluejays, Adrianna Hahn is 0-for-8 from the field. She has a combined four points in those games.
- Megan Quinn was 12-of-22 in the first meeting with the Bluejays, closing the game at Villanova with 25 points and 11 rebounds. In the meeting in Omaha, Quinn was 2-of-10 with four points and six boards.
- The Bluejays are 28-of-32 from the free-throw line in the two meetings with Villanova this season.
- Jade Owens has struggled against the Wildcats this season, going a combined 1-of-9 (.111) from the field. She, however, has a team-high 14 rebounds in the two games.
