Men's Tennis Opens Spring Trip With 7-0 Sweep of Rochester

Bluejays drop just one set in the victory
LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Creighton men's tennis team opened its spring trip to Florida with a 7-0 victory over the University of Rochester on Monday afternoon.
The win, Creighton's second straight 7-0 sweep, improved the Bluejays to 2-3 on the season.
Creighton captured the doubles point, winning all three matches in pairs competition.
Brooks Kendall started singles play with a quick 6-1, 6-1 victory over Rochester's Aaron Mevorach, and Harrison Lang made it 3-0 Bluejays after a 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Ian Baranowski. Alex Koca would clinch the team win with a 6-4, 6-0 win against Ben Shapiro.
Also picking up victories in singles play on Monday were Aaron Chalstrom, Anthony Rauschenbach and Quinn Dippel, with Dippel being the only Bluejay to require a third set. He overcame a first set loss to rally and defeat Masaru Fujimaki.
The match was the first of four in as many days for the Bluejays, who return to the courts on Tuesday to meet Youngstown State at 3:30 pm.
