Men's Golf Finishes Second In Final BIG EAST Tune-Up

Kade Brown finishes in second place
PEORIA, Ill. – Junior Kade Brown finished runner-up to lead the Creighton men's golf team to second place at the Bradley Invitational on Monday, April 11. Brown shot a 1-under par 71 during the third round to wrap up the two-day event at 220 (74+75+71), one stroke out of first place.
As a team the Bluejays shot a 904 (309+297+298) and finished second behind host Bradley at the WeaverRidge Golf Club. The Braves concluded the event with an 891 (302+293+296). Western Illinois took third after a 906 (303+297+306), Loyola University Chicago (310+309+303=922) placed fourth and Chicago State (327+314+339=980) rounded out the field in fifth.
Bradley's Lyle Burns earned medalist honors after a three-round 219 (71+75+73) on the par 72 course that measured 7,030 yards.
Creighton sophomore Trey Petitt followed Brown's performance with a top-10 finish of his own. Pettit returned to the clubhouse with an even-par 72 during the final round and a 225 (76+77+72) total to tie for seventh. Monday's third-round performance marked his second career par or better round and his two-day score earned him the second top-10 placement of his career.
Senior Steffen Lake tied for 12th, but entered the final round in a tie for 10th place after a two-over par 74 during the second round. The Madison, Wis. native, stroked a 232 (78+74+80).
Fellow senior Tommy Anderson tied for 17th after shooting a two-day 235 (81+72+82) and junior Andrew Holloway placed 23rd and carded a 239 (88+76+75). Anderson's even-par 72 tied his season-low round.
The Bluejays return to the links for the BIG EAST Championships May 1-3 at Callawassie Island in Okatie, S.C.
