Women's Cross Country Tested at Pre-National Meet

Bluejays take 37th in final tune-up before BIG EAST Championships
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Creighton women's cross country team faced some of the toughest competition it has faced all year on Saturday at the NCAA Pre-National Invitational. The team placed 37th overall with a score of 937, finishing well ahead of 961-point Central Michigan and 14 points behind Boston College. Reigning national champion Oregon won the meet with a total team score of 63.
Standout Emily Martin was the fastest Creighton runner with a time of 20:37.6 which placed her in 41st place. Martin won the 41st placed spot by .4 seconds over a BYU runner. After Martin was Adriana Kammerer in the 189th spot after running a 22:03.6. After Kammerer was Grace Mimmack in 221st place and running a 22:22.1.
Next was Ashlyn Glenn who ran a 22:54.6 getting her 249th place. Closely following Glenn in 251st place was Megan Paule, finishing half of a second behind Mimmack. In between Mimmack and Paule was Pittsburgh runner who finished a tenth of a second behind Mimmack and four-tenths of a second in front of Paule. Rounding out the Creighton runners were 276th place Amy Leasure with a time of 22:42.9. Eighteen seconds after her was Maile Shigemasa in 279th place.
Creighton women's cross country will next compete at the BIG EAST Championships in Somers, Wisconsin on October 28th.
