Women's Golf Announces Signing Of Two Recruits

Katie Allen and Kristin Goertz signed National Letters of Intent
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton women's golf head coach Debbie Conry announced the addition of two student-athletes for the 2018-19 season as Katie Allen (Phoenix, Ariz.) and Kristin Goertz (Omaha, Neb.) each signed National Letters of Intent this past week.
"I am very excited for Katie and Kristin to be part of the Bluejay Golf family," Conry said. "They are both a great additions to our team and I look forward to seeing them on campus this fall."
Allen will join the Bluejay golf program following graduation from Pinnacle High School in Phoenix. She finished in the top 10 at the 2017 Arizona Division I State Golf Tournament at the end of October. Allen also earned a spot on the All-Desert Valley Region First Team. Â
During Junior Golf Association of Arizona play, Allen claimed 2015 Desert Mashie Spring Championship and the 2014 Antigua Milt Coggins AZ Junior Stroke Play crown. Allen's scoring average is 76.1 in 12 events during 2017 play on the Junior Circuit, which includes second place finishes at two events.Â
Goertz will graduate from Omaha Duchesne before starting her career at Creighton. She helped lead the Cardinals to three consecutive Nebraska Class B State Championships. This fall, Duchesne won the title by 30 strokes. Individually, Goertz finished ninth, 11th, third and fourth during four appearances at the State Meet.Â
She also won the 16-and-up division and had the best overall score at the 2017 Capital City Championship at Highlands Golf Course in Lincoln, Neb. hosted by the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour.
