Creighton WBB Battles St. John's in Final Home Game of Season on Sunday

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton women's basketball team will close out their home schedule on Sunday, Feb. 19 as the Bluejays battle St. John's at 5:30 pm. Following the contest Creighton its honor a quartet of seniors; Marissa Janning, MC McGrory, Brianna Rollerson and Lauren Works.

St. John's leads the overall series with Creighton, 7-5. Creighton won the last meeting, earlier this season in New York, 55-43. The Red Storm have had success in Omaha, taking the last two meetings in D.J. Sokol Arena.
The Bluejays are 5-3 against St. John's in the regular season. The two squads have split each of the first three seasons as foes in the BIG EAST.
The Red Storm, however, have owned Creighton in the postseason, going 3-0 against the Bluejays in the BIG EAST Tournament and 1-0 in the NCAA Tournament.

Since joining the BIG EAST prior to the 2013-14 season, Creighton has a 25-10 home record. Creighton has a winning record against all but two squads, DePaul (1-3) and St. John's (1-2).
Entering the weekend the Bluejays trailed Seton Hall (1-2) in Omaha, but Friday's victory narrowed this list. A win Sunday will make this a one team list.
Lamberty Reaches New Heights Against Pirates
Junior Sydney Lamberty not only set a new career-high with 23 points in Creighton's 61-44 win over Seton Hall on Feb. 17, she also set or equalled marks for FG (9), FGA (17), 3FG (5), and 3FGA (9).
Sydney got started early, scoring the Bluejays' final five in the first period, and finished with a flourish of 16 second half point

- Ball Security and transition defense: One area that St. John's is specifically adept at is scoring off of turnovers. In the first meeting the Bluejays' 16 turnovers led to 14 Red Storm points.
- Outside Shooting: Creighton has typically been the better three-point shooting team, but in the first meeting St. John's limited the Bluejays to 5-of-14 from long range. The Red Storm, meanwhile, were 4-of-11 themselves.
