Rowing Drops Spring Season Opener at SMU

Dallas, Texas -- The Creighton Rowing squad opened its spring season with a tough battle at SMU before falling on Saturday, March 11.

Following a full week of training in Texas during spring break, the Bluejays claimed three of ten races against the Mustangs on Saturday. The biggest win of the day came in the 2V8, the second consecutive season that Creighton took that race in a matchup with SMU.
The V4-B as well as the 2V8-V4B. It was great to get a couple wins in the fours, and all of our boats has solid races.
"Our coxswains did a great job on the water, it was a busy morning with all the races running on 15-minute centers," said head coach Dan Chipps. "We saw a lot of growth and progress throughout the week and I'm really proud of the hard work everyone put in; all of the boats really maximized their water time, showing strong gains in the first week of the Spring season."
Creighton returns to action on March 25 as the Bluejays battle Kansas in Lawrence.
