Minneapolis, Minn. -- Creighton Rowing delivered a strong showing as nine boats competed in the Head of the Mississippi on Saturday, October 3 in Minnesota.

The Bluejays snagged fourth through seventh in the Women's Collegiate 4+, finishing within 12 seconds of the third Minnesota boat. Creighton's two novice eight boats took second and third, while the Bluejays' top boat finished with a time of 17:20.053 in the Varsity 8+ race.

"I'm continually impressed with the commitment to excellence throughout our team," said head coach Dan Chipps. "Each competition is an opportunity for growth. We raised the level of competition today and there are some things to learn from."

The Bluejays return to the water on Friday, October 16 as Creighton will compete at the Head of the Charles in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
