Men's Tennis Concludes Regular Season With Sweep of Hastings College

Bluejays enter postseason with 9-10 record
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's tennis team concluded its regular season with a 7-0 victory over Hastings College at the Koch Family Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Bluejays ended the 2017 regular-season dual schedule at 9-10 and will head to Cayce, S.C. for the BIG EAST Championships beginning on Friday, April 28.
Sunday's win also marked head coach Tom Lilly's 400th career combined victory at Creighton (men's and women's tennis combined).
Creighton claimed the doubles point with victories at the top two positions. Harrison Lang and Brooks Kendall won 6-2 at No. 1 and Aaron Chalstrom and Armando Gandini combined for their team-leading 11th doubles win with a 6-2 decision at No. 2.
The Bluejays did not drop a set on their way to sweeping singles action.
Kendall won his team-leading 12th match with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, while Jake Glazer improved to 11-8 with a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 4.
Gandini (No. 1) and Chalstrom (No. 3) followed their doubles victory with individual singles wins and Mac Mease's 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 6 clinched the overall dual. Daniel Lopez-Rey claimed his fourth singles victory by dropping only one game during the No. 5 singles match (6-1, 6-0).
Michael Koch and Marko Vukalovic also picked up victories in exhibition matches. Koch won 6-0, 6-4, while Vukalovic won 6-1, 6-2.
Mease and Alex Koca paired up for an exhibition doubles match and earned a 6-0 win.
Chalstrom, Glazer and Lang were each recognized on Sunday as part of Senior Day.
"Today our guys played well, and we were very business-like," Lilly said, "Hopefully we have a little more confidence heading into our BIG EAST Tournament that starts on Friday."
The Bluejays will be back in action in Cayce, S.C. on April 28 for the start of the BIG EAST Championships.
