Lacy Earns BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week Honor

New York, N.Y. -- Creighton junior Rollie Lacy nabbed BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time in his career on Monday, April 3. It is Lacy's first honor this season.
Lacy pitched 7.2 innings in the series opening win against Winthrop on March 31, allowing just one run with seven strikeouts. Lacy needed just 105 as he struck out seven and did not walk a batter to lead Creighton to the 7-1 win over the Eagles.
The Bluejays and Lacy return to the diamond on Tuesday, April 4 as Creighton battles arch rival Nebraska at 6:35 pm in Lincoln.
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Jesse Berardi, St. John's, Jr., SS/2B (Commack, N.Y.)
Junior Jesse Berardi led the then-No. 5 Red Storm to another undefeated week as he batted .600 (6-for-10) with a .714 OBP and a .900 slugging percentage. In the Red Storm's midweek win over Wagner, Berardi blasted a go-ahead three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth. In the first of two games with Hofstra this weekend, Berardi went 2-for-4 with an RBI, bumping his average north of the .400 mark this season. In the series finale, he reached base in all five of his plate appearances going 3-for-3 with a walk and a HBP. St. John's winning streak has extended to nine games.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Michael Hartnagel, Butler, R-Jr., SS (Brownsburg, Ind.)
Hartnagel hit .438 (7-for-16) in a 3-1 week for Butler. His statline included five runs, two RBI, one triple and two walks.
Sean Mooney, St. John's, Fr., RHP/Starter (Marmora, N.J.)
Recorded a dominant win in 7.0 innings at Hofstra. Mooney's statline included four scattered hits, seven strikeouts, a walk and a 1.29 ERA with 68 of his 87 pitches strikes.
Joe Poduslenko, Seton Hall, Sr., 3B (Glen Mills, Pa.)
Poduslenko hit .375 (6-for-16) in a 2-2 week for Seton Hall. He boasted an impressive statline that included 10 RBI with three home runs, one a grand slam in the midweek match up against Princeton. He scored three times for the Pirates.
Hunter Schryver, Villanova, Sr., (Mechanicsburg, Pa.)
Schryver earned the 7-3 win over Saint Joseph's in a 6.0 inning outing that included nine strikeouts with five hits and one run allowed.
Connor Grammes, Xavier, Fr. (McLean, Va.)
Went 8-for-13 for a .615 average in a 3-1 week for the Musketeers. Grammes had six RBI with three runs, a homer and two walks with a.923 slugging percentage and a .625 on-base percentage. Also pitched 3.1 innings.
