Incoming Men's Tennis Duo Takes ITA Summer Circuit Doubles Crown

Stratton Brown and Joe Hoff won three matches over two days to win the championship in Lincoln
LINCOLN, Neb. -- Incoming Creighton men's tennis freshmen Stratton Brown and Joe Hoff paired up to win the Men's Doubles draw of the ITA Summer Circuit hosted by the University of Nebraska at the Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln, Neb. this past weekend (July 8-9).
Brown and Hoff -- the No. 3 seed -- defeated the top-seeded duo of Jonas Larsen and Jason Kerst from the University of Iowa 8-7 to claim the championship on Sunday afternoon.
The future first-year Bluejays also needed a tiebreaker win during the semifinal round to advance into the championship match. Brown and Hoff clinched an 8-7 win over Kaleb Dobbs (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and Nikita Snezhko (Plymouth, Minn.) -- the No. 2 seeded pair.
Brown and Hoff defeated Jacob Weber (Gretna, Neb.) and William Gleason (Lincoln, Neb.) 8-4 on Saturday afternoon to open play in Lincoln.
Brown, will join the Creighton men's tennis program after playing at Sacred Heart High School in Salina, Kan. Brown earned Class 3-2-1A State singles championship during his junior and senior seasons and ended his career with a 62-match winning streak. He posted a career 121-4 record in singles action with runner-up finishes at state during his freshman and sophomore campaigns before his two state titles.
Hoff comes to Omaha via City High in Iowa City, Iowa. The former Little Hawk finished runner-up in the Class 2A State singles bracket during each of his final two seasons.
Both Brown and Hoff will join the Creighton tennis program starting this fall.
