Scouting South Dakota (0-4-0)
The Coyotes return 10 of 11 starters from last season and 20 letterwinners overall. South Dakota was picked to finish fifth in the
Summit League preseason poll.
South Dakota has yet to push across its first goal of the season, dropping three road contests to open 2017 as well as a home match on Sunday.
The Coyotes are likely to send Coral Suarez into the next against Creighton on Thursday. Suarez has allowed seven goals in 315 minutes, a 2.00 goals against average.
Bluejays Continue Road Campaign
Head coach Ross Paule made improving the 2017 schedule a priority, that got started right out of the gate as the Bluejays open the year with four consecutive road contests.
The final road contest in that stretch comes on Thursday as Creighton battles South Dakota in Vermillion.
Season Opening Drought
Suffering three consecutive shutouts to open the 2017 season set a dubious record for the Bluejays. Prior to this season, the longest stretch to open a season without a goal came in 2010 as the Bluejays did not score until its 216th minute (215:52 as Claire Zach scored on Loyola Marymount). Â
