Socctoberfest History
Women's soccer has fared well during Creighton's annual Socctoberfest celebration, winning three of the four times it has participated. The Bluejays fell in 2012 to Evansville, 1-0, but won each of the last three seasons. The women's team was unable to take part in Socctoberfest in 2013 due to a scheduling conflict.
2012: Â Â Â Oct. 20 - L, 0-1 vs. Evansville
2014:Â Â Â Sept. 4 - W, 6-0 vs. New Mexico State
2015:Â Â Â Sept. 4 - W, 4-1 vs. Nebraska-Omaha
2016:Â Â Â Sept. 9 - W, 2-1 vs. South Dakota
Bluejays Remain Flawless in First Half
Through the first five matches the Creighton defense has not allowed a goal in the first half. Starting stingy, however, is nothing new for the Bluejays under Paule. Last season Creighton did not surrender a first half goal until the seventh match of the season, allowing two to Yale in a 4-2 victory on Sept. 18.
Could Socctoberfest Lead to Another Monster Crowd
Last season during Socctoberfest the women's squad took down South Dakota in front of the third largest crowd in school history. A total of 1,444 saw the Bluejays best the Coyotes, 2-1, on Sept. 9. The largest crowd in school history was against Nebraska-Omaha on Sept. 20, 2013 a 3-2 Creighton win.
