OMAHA, Neb. -- Kari Zumach has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after helping Creighton Volleyball to a pair of wins last week.
A Buffalo, Minn., native, Zumach averaged 2.31 points, 1.88 kills, 0.88 blocks and 0.50 digs per set while hitting .448 in victories over Xavier and Butler.
Zumach made her first career BIG EAST start last Thursday in a win over Xavier, and she came through with a season-high nine kills on season-high .471 hitting. She added three digs and tied for the team-lead with four blocks as CU rallied for a five-set win.

No. 10 Creighton (18-4, 10-0 BIG EAST) will take a 10-match win streak into Friday's 7 p.m. match at No. 18 Marquette (19-4, 9-1 BIG EAST). The Bluejays then face DePaul (5-16, 3-7 BIG EAST) on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Chicago.
