Scouting Villanova (21-7, 11-6 BE)
Villanova and Creighton play a similar style of slow the pace and execute on offense. The Wildcats were able to run this script to almost perfection in the non-conference, falling only to Penn.
In BIG EAST action, Villanova has stumbled against Marquette (twice), DePaul, Creighton, Butler and St. John's.
The Wildcats have a quartet of players averaging between 11 and 12 points, Alex Louin (11.9 ppg), Kelly Jekot (11.6 ppg), Mary Gedaka (11.3 ppg) and Adrianna Hahn (11.1 ppg). Villnova's ability to score in so many places is one of many reasons they are so successful
Defensively the Wildcats don't force the action, rather the apply pressure by executing and forcing their opponents to take tough shots.
Keys Against Villanova
Impact of the Final Game
The final game of the 2017-18 regular-season carries significant weight for the Bluejays as well as the Wildcats as winner will earn the three seed in the BIG EAST tournament.
In addition, the Creighton/Villanova game is likely to impact the overall top seed in the conference tournament. If DePaul and Marquette remain deadlocked, a Bluejays win vaults the Blue Demons to the top spot, while a Wildcats win pushes Marquette to the No. 1 seed.
Postseason Implications: Creighton enters game with Villanova fighting for contention as a bubble team in the NCAA Tournament. Some bracketologist have the Bluejays in, others do not. Coming off a loss at Georgetown, this matchup with the Wildcats will strongly impact Creighton's chances.
Villanova, meanwhile, appears to be a lock for the NCAA tournament. One concern the Wildcats may have, however, is if Villanova finishes fourth in the BIG EAST with two losses against the Bluejays it could push them to the bubble.
For Those Who Like to Beat Traffic
Through 27 games this season, the Bluejays are 17-0 when leading after three quarters and 0-10 when trailing. This holds true despite playing six overtime games.
Another Key Has Been the Battle of the Boards
Similar to the indicator the leader after three has been, the battle of the boards has been almost as prophetic. Creighton is 15-0 when rebounds are even or in the Bluejays favor. Conversely, the Bluejays are 2-10 if they grab less rebounds.

Keys Against Villanova
- Ball Security: The Wildcats are too polished and precise to give them extra possessions.
