Robertson Leads BIG EAST Prospect Coming in at No. 28, while Collins tabbed No. 140
Omaha, Neb. -- Bluejay juniors Will Robertson and Isaac Collins made a national impact with their play in the Cape Cod League this summer as the duo were both recognized in D1Baseball's Top 150 College Prospect List, announced on Thursday, September 20th.
Robertson not only comes in as the top Bluejay, he is the highest rated prospect in the BIG EAST Conference coming in at No. 28. Robertson played in 44 games this summer in the Cape Cod League for the Cotuit Kettleers. He finished tied for second with 28 RBI, posted a .300 batting average, including 15 extra-base hits.
During the 2017 season Robertson earned All-BIG EAST First Team and claimed a spot on the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Midwest All-Region Second Team. The Missouri native delivered a monster sophomore season with a BIG EAST best 59 RBI in 50 games. Will smashed 12 home runs and 17 doubles to lead Creighton in both categories. In conference action, Robertson's 15 RBI ranked third, despite playing one fewer game than most in the conference.
Not to be outdone by his Bluejay teammate, Collins helped the Wareham Gatemen claim the Cape Cod League championship. During the summer Collins hit .320 with 47 hits and 34 runs scored in 44 games. He raised his play to another level in the six playoff contests, hitting .370 with three RBI and 10 hits.
Hitting second in the Bluejay order during the 2017 season, Collins played in each of Creighton's 50 contests. He closed the season with a .266 average, including 53 hits. Isaac finished second for the Jays with 44 runs scored and collected 17 extra-base knocks.
Robertson, Collins are expected to guide Creighton back to its place atop the BIG EAST in 2019 as the Bluejays were the regular-season champs in both 2014 and 2017. Creighton's fall schedule begins on Saturday, Sept. 22 as the Bluejays host Bellevue University at 10 am in CU Sports Complex.
