Casey Matthews Joins Men's Basketball Staff as Video Coordinator

Matthews replaces Tim MacAllister on staff
OMAHA, Neb. -- Casey Matthews has been hired as the video coordinator for the Creighton men's basketball staff, head coach Greg McDermott announced today.
Matthews replaces Tim MacAllister, who resigned in August to accept the Chief of Staff role at Texas Tech.
As video coordinator, Matthews will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the team's film and video needs, including opponent scouting reports and breakdown of game and practice film to create individual and team edits for the Creighton team and staff.
Before coming to Creighton, he spent three seasons as North Dakota State's director of basketball operations.
"We're excited to have Casey join our staff," said McDermott. "He's worked with some great people and proven to be very knowledgeable in a variety of areas. I think he'll be a huge asset to our program."
Matthews came to NDSU following a two-year stint as the video coordinator for Southern Miss men's basketball. As video coordinator, he was responsible for all aspects of video operations, including film exchange, video breakdown of games and practices, and assisting the coaching staff with opponent and self-scouting, among other duties.
Matthews also served as the head men's basketball manager at UNC-Wilmington from 2011-13. He has extensive experience working in basketball camps at the Division I level.
He graduated from UNC-Wilmington in 2013 with a degree in sport leadership.
Matthews and his wife, April, have an 11-month old daughter, Finley.
Yesterday marked the first official day of practice for the 2018-19 season.
