Jacob Epperson To Miss Time After Suffering Leg Injury
10/24/2019 7:07:00 PM | Men's Basketball
Bluejay big man has averaged 5.6 points in his career at Creighton
OMAHA, Neb. – Creighton men's basketball center Jacob Epperson will be out for an undetermined amount of time after suffering an injury to his right leg during practice on Thursday, October 24.
A redshirt sophomore from Melbourne, Australia, Epperson has averaged 5.6 points and 2.6 rebounds over two seasons with the Bluejays. He earned a medical hardship in 2018-19 after season-ending back and knee surgery in January ended his season after just nine games.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jacob at a time like this," said Creighton head coach Greg McDermott. "He's worked so hard to get ready for this season, and to see him suffer another setback is heartbreaking. I've been with him at the hospital and Jacob's spirits are high. He remains committed to getting back on the floor after making a full recovery."
Creighton opens exhibition play on November 1 vs. McKendree before tipping off the regular-season on Nov. 5 vs. Kennesaw State.

Thank you to everyone that has reached out and wished me well. Everyone's support and prayers mean a lot to me and make this process much easier. It's been a crazy and unlucky year but as they say third times a charm! Let's make this one the last one.
