Keeley Davis Wins Eighth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week Award

Standout freshman helped CU to a pair of 3-0 wins last weekend
OMAHA, Neb. -- For the eighth time in the last nine weeks, Creighton Volleyball outside hitter Keeley Davis has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week.

Davis averaged 3.83 kills, 0.83 blocks, 0.67 digs and 0.17 aces per set while hitting .431 in a pair of Creighton victories. She amassed a team-high 23 kills in 51 swings, as she had just one attack error on the weekend.
The Highlands Ranch, Colo., native had nine kills, three blocks and two digs while hitting .308 in a 3-0 victory over St. John's on Friday. On Sunday, Davis hit a career-best .560 and put down 14 kills in 25 errorless swings vs. Seton Hall. She also contributed two blocks, two digs and an ace.
Davis' five blocks on the week matched that of Creighton's two opponents, and she had nearly half as many kills (23) as CU's two opponents combined for (50).
Davis had received seven consecutive BIG EAST Freshman of the Week accolades from September 10 - October 22 before Xavier's Lauren Hanlon won the recognition on Oct. 29.

Ranked ninth nationally, Creighton (19-3, 12-0 BIG EAST) returns to the court on Friday with a 6 p.m. Central match at third place Villanova (18-6, 9-3 BIG EAST).
Marquette's Allie Barber was honored as BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, and her teammate Martha Konovodoff took home BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week acclaim. Creighton's Madelyn Cole and Naomi Hickman each were named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for their efforts last week, as well.
