Agnew Claims Third BIG EAST Player of the Week Honor

New York, N.Y. -- Creighton senior Jaylyn Agnew collected her BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the 2019-20 season, scoring 20 of her game-high 23 points in the second half as Creighton rallied from a 14-point deficit to win at Georgetown on Sunday in the BIG EAST opening game for both squads.
In the midst of four conference games in eight days, the Bluejays continue their road trip against Villanova on Tuesday, Dec. 31st at 12:00 pm.

BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week
Jaylyn Agnew, Creighton, Sr., F
Agnew In the explosive final 20 minutes, Agnew was 7-of-12 from the field, including a trio of triples, to collect her fourth 20-point outing of the season. The senior finished with four three-pointers on the afternoon and added a game-high five assists while collecting four rebounds and two steals. This is Agnew's third BIG EAST Player of the Week honor of the season.

BIG EAST Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week
Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, R-Fr., F
Siegrist picks up her fifth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week certificate of the season after tying the game high with 18 points in Villanova's conference-opening win over Providence on Sunday. The redshirt-freshman grabbed six rebounds and was credited with two steals and an assist in the win. Siegrist drained three buckets from long range and maintained her hold on the BIG EAST scoring lead this season with a 21.6 points per game average.

BIG EAST Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll
Chante Stonewall, DePaul, Sr., F
In a game which No. 16/16 DePaul forced 26 turnovers, Stonewall was credited with a game-high five steals as the Blue Demons knocked off rival -/RV Marquette in Sunday's league opener. The senior added 20 points and four rebounds in the win.
Qadashah Hoppie, St. John's, Jr., G
Hoppie had a team-high 18 points off 7-of-14 shooting, including a trio of three-pointers, as St. John's hung on for a road win over Xavier on Sunday. The junior guard added four rebounds, four steals and four assists in the victory.
Barbara Johnson, Seton Hall, Sr., G
Johnson erupted for a game-high 18 points on 6-for-10 shooting, which included 3-for-4 from three-point range in Seton Hall's victory at Butler on Sunday. With the score tied at 60, she sank a pair of free-throws with 1:12 left in the game to give Seton Hall its first lead of the game, 62-60. Then, with the game tied at 62, she drilled a game-winning, go-ahead three-pointer with just 29 seconds left in the contest. Johnson also grabbed five rebounds and dished out a pair of assists in the Pirates' win.
Mary Gedaka, Villanova, Sr., F
Gedaka notched her second double-double of the year with game highs of 18 points and 10 rebounds in the Wildcats' win over Providence on Sunday. She was 8-of-13 from the field and added four assists and a steal.
Sarah Leyendecker, Xavier, R-So., F
Leyendecker posted her first career double-double on Sunday afternoon against St. Jon's, scoring a career-high 18 points to go along with a game-high 13 rebounds. The redshirt-sophomore was 7-of-8 from the field, coming off the bench to play 27 minutes in the Musketeers' narrow setback to the Red Storm.
