Creighton Rowing Falls to SMU in Spring Opener

Dallas, Texas -- The Creighton Rowing team opened the 2019 spring season with a dual race against SMU in Texas on Saturday, March 16. Although the Bluejays fell 4-0, Creighton capped a highly successful spring break trip to Texas by getting in the flow of competition. During the final 1V8 race the Bluejays were within one boat length as the battle entered the final 500 meters.
"I was both proud and pleased with the level of competition and fight we showed today," said head coach Dan Chipps. "Although the conditions were less than ideal today, it felt good to get on the water in a true race. This trip gave our squad much to build upon for the season."
The Bluejays are next in action on March 30th as Creighton competes in a three-team battle with Alabama and Jacksonville in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
