Bluejays Remain Perfect, 5-0, when Flanery Jumps in the Layup Line
Over the past two seasons head coach Jim Flanery has jumped into the Bluejays' layup line prior to five games. It began at Marquette on Feb. 4, 2018 in a road pink game. Flan continued the trend in Creighton's pink game against Seton Hall on Feb. 10, 2019. Then did it once more in the Bluejays game at Xavier on Feb. 17, 2019, also a road pink game. At the urging of his squad Flan participated in the layup line at Providence. A few differences is that it was not a pink game, thus he did not have his pink basketball shoes. In addition it was the first time Flan did not convert on the reverse layup. Despite the changes, the Bluejays moved to 4-0 when Flan has jumped into the layup line.
Versus Marquette on March 1, Flan returned to the layup line in his customary pink shoes and dropped in the reverse layup in the pregame warmup. For the fifth consecutive time, the Bluejays followed the lead of the coach with a victory.
