Creighton University alumnus and NBA standout Kyle Korver, BA’03, has agreed to serve as commencement speaker at both the morning and afternoon ceremonies on May 18.
I am pleased to announce that Creighton University alumnus and NBA standout Kyle Korver, BA'03, has agreed to serve as our commencement speaker at both the morning and afternoon ceremonies on May 18. Kyle is highly regarded among fellow NBA players and in the communities in which he has played, not only for his incredible athletic talent, drive, and professionalism, but also for his service, philanthropy, and commitment to being a role model for others, especially young fans.
Kyle has played in the NBA for 16 years, most recently with the Utah Jazz, has appeared in two NBA Finals, and has been an NBA All-Star selection. Many in Omaha remember him from his time as a student-athlete at Creighton, during which he helped guide the Bluejays to NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his four years, from 1999 to 2003. He is a member of both the Creighton and Missouri Valley Conference Halls of Fame. Creighton retired his No. 25 jersey in 2018.
In addition to hearing from Kyle and awarding him in the morning ceremony with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters for the many accomplishments just described, we will also recognize two additional individuals with honorary degrees in the morning and afternoon.
Sincerely,Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ
