Terrell Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

Omaha, Neb. -- Bluejay freshman goalkeeper Keelan Terrell collected her first BIG EAST honor on Monday, Sept. 23, earning the conference's Freshman of the Week nod.
With starting goalkeeper Katie Sullivan sidelined, Terrell stepped in for her first career start on Tuesday at Kansas City. Keelan collected a pair of saves to lead Creighton to its sixth win of the season. She then followed with four saves at (RV) Florida Atlantic on Sunday, surrendering just one goal which came in the 82nd minute.
For the week Creighton's redshirt freshman went 1-1-0 in two starts.

BIG EAST Offensive Player of the WeekÂ
Elayna Grillakis, Providence, So., F
The sophomore came up clutch for the Friars in a 2-0 week, scoring the 98th-minute golden goal in a 1-0 win at Texas on Thursday before scoring the second-half equalizer against Northeastern on Sunday to send the game into overtime. For the week, Grillakis scored two of Providence's three goals while tallying five shots, including three on frame. PC has four overtime victories this season with Grillakis providing two of those golden goals.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the WeekÂ
Jenna Royson, Georgetown, So., D
The 12th-ranked Hoyas scored an emphatic win over Ohio to close out non-conference play, as the Royson-led defense picked up their fourth shutout of the season. GU outshot the Bobcats 16-4, including 12-3 on goal, and held them to just one corner kick. Royson got in on the scoring as well, notching her third goal of the season in the 13th minute to give the Hoyas an early 2-0 lead.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the WeekÂ
Shelby Hogan, Providence, R-Jr., GK
Hogan scored a pair of overtime victories last week, totaling 13 saves, a .929 save percentage and 0.46 goals against average. The redshirt-junior had an impressive performance at Texas on Thursday, making seven saves to blank the Longhorns for her third clean sheet of the season. She followed that with six saves in an overtime win over Northeastern on Sunday evening. Hogan enters BIG EAST play with the top save percentage among league goalkeepers at .878, while her 0.63 goals against average lists second.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Stephanie Rodriguez, Butler, Jr., GK
The junior made six saves in an impressive scoreless draw at Utah on Friday as the Bulldogs earned their third clean sheet of the season and enter BIG EAST play on a two-game unbeaten streak.
Paula Germino-Watnick, Georgetown, Sr., F
Germino-Watnick lit up the scoreboard in a 7-0 blowout of Ohio on Friday, tallying five points off two goals and an assist. She registered five shots on the afternoon as the Hoyas picked up their fourth consecutive win.
Zsani Kajan, St. John's, R-Jr., F
Kajan scored both goals in a 2-0 home win over Cornell on Saturday, notching what would be the game winner in the 44thminute before providing an insurance score in the 69th. The redshirt-junior's nine shots on the afternoon were a single-game high in the BIG EAST last week.Â
Brice McInroy, Villanova, So., M
McInroy led the Wildcats to an unbeaten week to close out non-conference play, scoring in the ninth minute at Princeton on Thursday before providing the game-winning goal in the 10th minute against Brown on Sunday. The sophomore leads Villanova with nine points (4g, 1a) over nine games this season.
Samantha Dewey, Xavier, R-Sr., M
Dewey led Xavier to back-to-back wins last week, scoring a goal in each outing, including the game winner at Miami (Ohio) on Friday. She also scored the first goal of the game at Lipscomb in Sunday's 2-1 victory to help stretch the Musketeers' unbeaten streak to a BIG EAST-best six matches.Â
