Men's Basketball Moves Into Top 10 of AP Poll

Bluejays are ranked for ninth straight week
OMAHA, Neb. --Â The Creighton men's basketball team is ranked ninth in the country in the Associated Press poll released on Monday, November 30th.
The Bluejays moved up two spots after opening the season on Sunday with a 69-58 win vs. North Dakota State.
Creighton has now been ranked each of the past nine weeks, a streak that started on Feb. 3, 2020.
Creighton (1-0) has now been ranked 98 times in program history, with 70 of those under the direction of Greg McDermott. Creighton is 121-46 all-time as a ranked team, including an 87-34 mark under McDermott. Creighton has been ranked at least one week in eight of McDermott's 11 seasons on The Hilltop after doing it just five different seasons in program history before his 2010 arrival.
In addition, this is the 14th time that Creighton has earned a top-10 ranking in program history. Thirteen of those weeks have come under McDermott's leadership.
CU is one of two BIG EAST teams that are nationally ranked by the AP this week, joining No. 12 Villanova. Creighton's Dec. 8 opponent, Kansas, is ranked seventh. Other BIG EAST teams that are receiving votes include Providence and Connecticut.
The USA Today/Coaches poll, which had Creighton 11th a week ago, did not release a new version on Monday.
Creighton hosts Nebraska-Omaha on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at 4:00 p.m. It'll be the first meeting between the schools in 25 years and one day.
