Men's Basketball Ranked 23rd in Latest AP Poll

OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's basketball remained in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for a second straight week, coming in at No. 23 in the edition released on Monday, February 10. The Bluejays moved down two spots from last week's No. 21 slotting after a 1-1 week that included a 94-82 win over St. John's on Saturday.

Creighton (18-6, 7-4 BIG EAST) has now been ranked three times this season and 91 times in program history, with 63 of those under the direction of Greg McDermott. Creighton is 114-45 all-time as a ranked team, including an 80-33 mark under McDermott. Creighton has been ranked at least one week in seven of McDermott's 10 seasons on The Hilltop after doing it just five different seasons in program history before his 2010 arrival.

Creighton's highest all-time ranking was No. 7 during the week of Jan. 16, 2017.

The Bluejays return to action on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. Central game at No. 10 Seton Hall in a game that will be televised nationally on FS1. The Bluejays will be seeking their fourth top-10 road win in the past seven years, something only Kansas, Duke, Oklahoma and Michigan have done in that span.

The Pirates and Bluejays are two of five BIG EAST teams that are nationally ranked by the AP this week, joining No. 15 Villanova, No. 18 Marquette and No. 19 Butler. It marks the first time since March 18, 2013 that the BIG EAST has had five teams ranked at the same time. Back then, it was No. 2 Louisville, No. 8 Georgetown, No. 16 Marquette, No. 18 Syracuse and No. 22 Pittsburgh.

The USA Today/Coaches poll, moved Creighton up a spot to a season-best 21st.
