Ethan Wragge and Jahenns Manigat joined Greg McDermott
Creighton Men's Basketball alums Jahenns Manigat and Ethan Wragge caught up with head coach Greg McDermott in Episode 7 of "The Offseason".
Jahenns Manigat played basketball at Creighton from 2010-14, where the "Canadian Red Bull" quickly became a fan favorite. Manigat played in all 145 games and made 122 starts, including 121 in a row to close his career. He scored an even 900 points in his career and is one of five players in Creighton history to make more than 200 three-pointers (206) while shooting 40 percent or better (.406) from deep. Creighton went 107-38 with Manigat on the team, including three NCAA Tournament trips, three NCAA Tournament wins, two MVC Tournament titles and one MVC regular-season crown. Manigat has played professionally in Romania, Cyprus, Germany and Lithuania before spending the past two campaigns in Hungary.
Ethan Wragge played basketball at Creighton from 2009-14 and remains one of the top shooters in program history. The Minnesota native earned All-Freshman Team honors in 2009-10 under Dana Altman and MVC Sixth Man of the Year acclaim in 2012-13 under Greg McDermott. Wragge's nine three-pointers in a game at Villanova tied a school-record (at the time), and his 110 three-pointers in 2013-14 and 334 career three-pointers trail only Kyle Korver in program history. Wragge finished his career with 1,155 career points, and his school-record 149 games played is tied for 14th-most in NCAA history. Wragge retired after two seasons of professional basketball and currently resides in Colorado.
Greg McDermott wrapped up his 10th year as head coach at Creighton in 2019-20 as the BIG EAST Coach of the Year as well as the USBWA District VI Coach of the Year, NABC District 5 Coach of the Year and Basketball Times Midlands District Coach of the Year. He is 231-116 with the Bluejays. McDermott has previously been a head coach at Iowa State (2006-10), Northern Iowa (2001-06), North Dakota State (2000-01) and Wayne State (1994-2000). He owns a career mark of 511-311 after his 26th season and is 380-247 after 19 Division I campaigns. McDermott's son, Doug, was named National Player of the Year in 2013-14 while a teammate with Wragge and Manigat and currently plays for the Indiana Pacers.
