Women's Soccer Announces 2021 Spring Schedule

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton women's soccer head coach Ross Paule announced today the 2021 spring season schedule. The Bluejays are slated to play 12 matches against outside competition including five of those at Morrison Stadium.
An abbreviated non-conference schedule begins with the annual Blue-White Scrimmage on Feb. 13. The first match of the regular season is a neutral site contest with Missouri State in Kansas City, Mo., on Feb. 18. Creighton then battles Missouri on Jan. 25 in Columbia, before playing a home exhibition match with Minnesota State-Mankato on Feb. 28. The final non-conference contest is a road match at Iowa State on March 28.
The BIG EAST will be split into two divisions for the 2021 spring season – the Midwest Division and the East Division. Creighton will compete in the five-team Midwest Division along with Butler, DePaul, Marquette and Xavier. The Bluejays are slated to play home and home league matches against each Midwest Division opponent (eight matches). The East Division will comprise of six teams (Connecticut, Georgetown, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall and Villanova) and will play 10 league matches (home and home against each East Division opponent). Both divisional schedules have two make-up dates for rescheduling purposes if needed.

The Bluejays start BIG EAST play on March 4 in Milwaukee against Marquette and then hosts Xavier at Morrison Stadium on March 7. Creighton's other BIG EAST home matches are March 18 (Butler), March 21 (Marquette) and April 4 (DePaul). Creighton's other road contests in league play are at DePaul (March 14), at Xavier (March 25) and at Butler (April 8).
The Spring 2021 BIG EAST Championship presented by JEEP is scheduled for April 14 & 17 and will be hosted by Providence in Rhode Island. The championship will consist of four teams, the top two from each division.

Allowing fans at Creighton's home matches at Michael G. Morrison, S.J., Stadium is being evaluated to determine if the benefits provided to having limited fans outweighs the additional costs associated with increased safety measures and the inherent risks involved. More information on this matter will be released at a later date.
